The
two luminaries and eight planets of our solar system are reflected in
our bodies as our energy centers. These star centers, or chakras,
are focal points of subtle force that are connected to the endocrine glands
and major nerve centers in the physical body, and extend up into the invisible
energy field surrounding the body, known as the human
aura.
A
Rainbow of Color
Our
bodies are made up of radiant energy, electromagnetic
currents and waves of sound and light. The ancients said
that "Sound is all there is," indicating that all forms originate from
sound vibrations. Light is a visible manifestation of the radiant energy
emanating from the stars and planets.
Colors
are how we visually translate sound. The aura contains a rainbow of color,
consisting of seven distinctly shaded waves of light which reflect our
state of spirit, mind, emotions, activity level, health and an assortment
of other factors. The colors in our auras constantly change, due to the
vibratory influences of the heavenly bodies and how we respond to and
assimilate their radiance. The quality of the food we eat, the air we
breathe and our experiences also cause alterations within the aura.
Planetary
Signs and Symptoms
Trauma,
injury, illness and other devastating incidents create dark holes or muddy
areas within the aura. For example, spiritual healers who can see this
subtle energy say that in its early stages, cancer looks blue-gray, and
turns to black as it progresses. Substances such as alcohol, marijuana,
cocaine and even prescription drugs dim the healthy, brilliant colors
of the aura, and may cause dark spots to appear over the area of the liver.
Likewise, emotional problems, such as depression, worry or anxiety will
appear in varying, dull shades of violet-blue, greenish-yellow or orange,
respectively.
Many
spiritual healers can generate well-being in the body and mind by manipulating
an unhealthy aura with their own energy fields or through therapeutic
touch. We, too, can keep our auras in peak condition, by observing our
responses to the people, places and things we encounter every day, and
by shifting our awareness to the pure and powerful energy generated by
the stars and planets. However, it is first necessary to understand the
seven centers in relation to the physical body and the stars and planets
in order to help ourselves to remember our inherent wholeness.
The
Planets and the Chakras
Saturn nourishes the root center, located at the base of the spine, and
is colored blue-violet. An unbalanced Saturn center may result in limited
mobility, mental/emotional oppression, broken bones, circulatory problems,
suspicion, fear and anxiety. When balanced, Saturn manifests as practicality,
sincerity, determination, perseverance and good humor.
Mars,
associated with the sex center located below the navel, is red. Anger,
headaches, fever, lowered vitality, sexually-transmitted diseases and
sexual dysfunction denote imbalance. Good reasoning ability, strong personal
magnetism, passion and energy indicate a well-balanced Mars.
Jupiter is associated with the navel center, located in the upper abdomen.
Its color is violet. We are prone to mental/physical inertia, irresponsibility,
deceitfulness, depression and addictive behavior (overeating, drug and/or
alcohol abuse) when Jupiter is out of whack. We are active, steadfast,
loyal, trustworthy, honest and moderate when it’s in balance.
The
Sun or heart center, located behind and above the heart, is orange. Heart
disease, back problems, circulatory disorders, insecurity and self-doubt
are troublesome when the heart center is afflicted, while robust good
health, generosity, regenerative power, creativity and a strong sense
of purpose indicate wellness.
Venus,
or the throat center, situated in the throat area, is green. Weakness
here may result in over-indulgence, indolence, obesity, lowered resistance
and capriciousness. Artistry, inner peace and strong visualization powers
signify strength.
The
Moon or third eye, centered on the forehead, is blue. Irrational fears,
excessive mood swings, glandular problems, sadness and despair are symptoms
of discordance. Balance in this area brings rhythm and grace, sensitivity,
consideration, compassion, sympathy and an empathetic nature.
Mercury,
associated with the head center in the middle of the brain, is yellow.
Mental/physical exhaustion, bronchial disturbances, colon irritation and
erratic and thoughtless behavior are signs of disharmony. Charm, charisma,
mental/manual dexterity and alertness show that all is in working order.
Healing
With Star Light
The
following meditation
will enable you to change your subtle energy field when you feel out of
sorts, and help you to stay in touch with the planetary vibrations necessary
to maintain good health:
Lie
down in a comfortable place. Once you are comfortably situated, close
your eyes and breathe deeply. Take the air in through your nose, down
into your belly, and release it through your mouth. Do this until you
feel completely relaxed, from your toes up to the top of your head. Next,
imagine every fiber of your being in a protective ovum of white light.
This is your aura, which connects you to the planets through the seven
centers. Proceed with the meditation.
- Become
aware of the edges of your body, where the air and skin connect.
-
Expand the edges of your body as far as possible.
- Try to
see the colors emanating from the aura surrounding your body. If the
colors are dull, imagine them getting brighter.
-
Expand or shrink your aura to a size that feels comfortable.
- Open your
eyes.
Performing
this meditation regularly will help to familiarize you with your aura,
as well as become more attuned to the planetary energies and how they
affect you.
Notes
Chakras:
Chakra is the Sanskrit word for "wheels," indicating the rotating or spinning
motion they make, which is esoterically associated with Jupiter.
Human
aura: The aura is the non-physical body comprised of stellar
energy that we cannot see with ordinary sight.
Electromagnetic
currents: These currents are the spiritual energies underlying
the physical forces of electricity (associated with the Sun, and the dynamic,
masculine planets and signs), magnetism (associated with the Moon, and
the passive, feminine planets and signs) and light and heat.
Meditation:
The art of meditation involves stilling the mind (air), emotions (water)
and body (earth) in order to get in touch with the harmonious ebb and
flow of the cosmos (spiritual ether). Proper breathing initiates the relaxed
state of being necessary for successful meditation.
