Bush
Poised to Expand War
"Afghanistan
is just the beginning on the war against terror," said President
Bush last week to the renowned Screaming Eagles (the 101st
Airborne Division). The speech to a roaring crowd of soldiers was the
strongest hint yet that President Bush is preparing to take the war against
terrorism to other nations. "Across the world, across the years,
we will fight these evil ones."
December
should be a big month for Bush as the nation's Commander-in-Chief. All
the outer planet transits are making big hits to his natal horoscope,
and he is also in the midst of two major progressions. Making sense of
these various measurements can be grouped around one central vibration
which is embodied by the war planet Mars.
Bush's progressed Ascendant squares Uranus in mid-December, a progressed aspect lasting
many months, but now at its most intense. This connection highlights the
crisis-oriented atmosphere surrounding military action since his Uranus
aligns perfectly with the U.S. Mars. Dovetailing with this astro-event
is transiting Uranus opposing his Venus (exact on December 6), highlighting
the rapid-paced, electrifying developments in Afghanistan. (Editor's Note:
WolfStar uses a Scorpio
rising U.S. chart.)
In addition,
transiting Saturn's retrograde square to natal Mars is a compelling force
throughout December. By the new year Bush's progressed Mars (which squares
the Sun in March 2002) begins to kick in with great force. With Mars ruling
the Aries Midheaven, his destiny point, Bush's military plans must be
monumental, and we're all along for the ride.
Harry
Potter Makes Magic for AOL Time Warner
Harry
Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone beat out Star Wars and Jurassic
Park by bringing in $32.9 million on its opening day, the highest single-day
gross in movie history. The 2˝-hour mega-hit was also the fastest
to reach $100 million, and continues to break box office records in the
U.S. and Britain. The sequel is now being filmed, and a host of merchandising
programs has been launched.
The
owner of this hot property is AOL
Time Warner, a many-headed media giant with the financial resources
and political clout of a major nation-state. Astrologers may track the
developments of AOL Time Warner through its merger horoscope (January
11, 2001; 6:00 pm*; Washington DC) set for when the FCC announced its
approval.
Saturn square
Uranus shows the dichotomy between the old economy (Time Warner) and the
new economy (AOL). The Leo Moon reflects the emphasis on entertainment,
and fits right into the Saturn-Uranus dynamic, creating a powerful T-square
to drive the company. The lunar nodes, as in personal charts, shows fateful
developments and connections: Harry
Potter was released as transiting Jupiter, the bringer of opportunities,
came to a full stop precisely on the beneficial North Node.
AOL Time
Warner's horoscope shows remarkable similarity to John D. Rockefeller's
Standard Oil Company, which was incorporated on January 10, 1870. Both
charts feature an ambitious Capricorn Sun enhanced by trines to outer
planets in financially-savvy Taurus. AOL Time Warner is already on the
road to success, and will gross about $2.2 billion worldwide on the first
Harry Potter movie, with at least four more on the drawing boards.
Mary
Kay, The High Priestess of Pink
In 1963 Mary
Kay bought a skin care formula for $500, and then with $5,000 financing
launched what eventually became the largest direct seller of skin-care
products in the country. By the time she died last week Mary Kay Cosmetics
had annual sales of $1.2 billion and 850,000 sales consultants in 37 countries.
Mary
Kathlyn Wagner was born a salt-of-the earth Taurus on May 12, 1918 (in
Hot Wells, TX; time unknown) with her Moon in the door-to-door sign of
Gemini. The Sun squares Uranus, a common planetary signature of the super-rich.
This combination blends the natural business sense of Taurus with an independent
spirit. Mary Kay's successful business strategy offered personal freedom
and wealth to every sales representative, mostly liberated women.
Beauty comes
under the auspices of Venus, and in Mary Kay's horoscope this planet is
strongly placed. Venus resides in Aries next to Chiron, a socially aggressive,
even loud influence, especially when it comes to personal style. In her
successful years she was fond of driving a pink Cadillac, and lived in
a $5 million, 30-room pink palace, establishing herself as the High Priestess
of Pink.
Venus is
also at the center of a T-Square with Ceres and Pluto. The Ceres-Pluto
link often brings painful loss of loved ones. When Mary Kay was preparing
to launch the company with her second husband in 1963, he died suddenly
a month before they were ready to open, just as her progressed Sun was
conjunct Pluto. Against the advice of her lawyer and accountant, she decided
to go ahead with the business. And then she was reborn.
*6:00 pm
is an estimate until further research clarifies the actual time of the
FCC announcement, which was somewhere between 5:00 pm and 6:55 pm.
