just recently found StarIQ and your columns, and I had to send my relationship
question. I've just started dating someone (only three weeks ago), and
I have a really good feeling about things, tempered with a deep-seated
fear of letting myself enjoy the wonderful feelings only to get my heart
broken later. I'm one of those romantic, sensitive Pisces, and experience
makes me wary, though I hold out hope that true love is out there. Anyway,
I'd just like to see if the stars say this is a good prospect before I
let myself get too involved emotionally. My birth info is March 6, 1969,
6:08 pm in Houston, Texas, and my new beau, Matt, is November 29, 1969
in Anaheim, California (don't know the time). Does it look like this could
actually work out, or are my rose-colored glasses working overtime?
are a wild-at-heart, dyed-in-the-wool romantic! Pisceans in general are
known to be pretty dreamy, preferring the fantasy world to the harsh,
brutal real world. (Can you say Blanch Dubois?) You must be especially
starry-eyed because your Pisces Sun is in your Seventh House of partnership.
In addition, your Moon (emotional nature) is in supa dupa romantic Libra.
Moon in Libra folks tend to really believe in the myth of the "other
half" out there. These two signs together make me believe that you
are sitting around in a negligee right now, drinking mint juleps and longing
to be swept off your feet by a knight in shining armor.
Jupiter (planet of good luck and excess) right on top of Uranus (planet of growth
and sudden change), both in Libra in your First House of self, I see
a lot of Libra—ahem—ISSUES here. Your romantic nature may be a blessing
and a curse. Though you are never at a loss for lovers, your need for
them can often make you feel hungry, even amid a feast. The true challenge
for you is to look at yourself in a romantic as well as realistic light
and appreciate the beauty and intelligence there, even when no one else's
bedroom eyes are gazing at you, baby.
Are Your Own Sparring Partner
Venus, the planet of love, is conjunct Saturn, the planet of structure,
maturity and discipline. Both are in Libra's opposite sign—Aries, sign
of passion and aggression—in your Eighth House of marriage. This indicates
that you have a war-like attitude toward long-term relationships. It's all about the chase. Once you "give in" to someone's
rough-and-tumble/soft-core porn seduction of you, then you feel like they
own you, and again, that feeling of dependence on them starts to rise
up in you and make you want to fight for your freedom.
heartbreak may have (in a subtle way) been somewhat self-induced by picking
a partner who was rather unavailable. The trick is this, adorable Donna:
Can you tell the difference between a man who is available for the first
year of fun, courtship, hot loving and romance, and one who is available for
a long-term relationship?
Maybe the Man?
So now let's
look at that cool cat Matt and see if he's available for years of love
or just hours of sweaty sex. What I like about Matt's chart (particularly
for you) is that he's pretty direct and diverse. His Sun and Mercury are
conjunct in Sagittarius, which suggests that he's more likely to put his
big foot in his mouth than to lie to you.
(planet of love) is in sexy Scorpio and conjunct his own Neptune (planet
of dreams and also Pisces' ruling planet) as well as your Neptune. This
troubles me a little because it suggests that he may play into your "love
is the drug" fantasy world. However, Matt's Mars sits on your Mercury
(communication) in the ahead-of-its-time and cerebral sign of Aquarius.
I see this as the hope for you two. Since Aquarius is an unconventional
sign that idealizes friendship above all else (but also has a very open
and free-spirited approach to love), I wonder if it's possible for you
two to spend a long time developing your friendship before you start going
steady in your beddy?
How Long Is a Long Time?
now Uranus (Aquarius' ruler) is hovering right over your Mercury and pretty
close to Matt's Mars, which probably explains part of the electric charge
between you. (You know that feeling when you first are getting to know
someone and you have so much to talk about and feel such a chemical spark
between you?) But soon Uranus goes retrograde, which means that a change
could be in the air that isn't exactly what you are planning, but which
ultimately can help you to grow if you look at your own unconscious patterns.
advice: Wait till sometime between September and December of this year
before even considering getting exclusive and serious with Mr. Matt. During
that period Uranus will "hit" again, and you'll know whether
there's a true long-term anything underneath all that sexy chemistry.
