SUBJECT: Another Kind of Survivor
DATE POSTED: 4/24/2001
NAME: alan bitker
EMAIL: abitker@snet.net
While Survivor II is a contest featuring physical challenge, it is, above all, a game of social endurance and interpersonal strategies.
In Elizabeth Filarski's birth chart(May 28, 1977/Providence, RI/no time/ source: survivor.cbs.com), I believe we find the astrological signatures of a perhaps unlikely winner. To this test of relational strategy, she brings a Moon-Pluto conjunction in Libra closely trine a conjunction of the Sun and Jupiter in Gemini.
Pluto with the Moon in Libra can elicit from Elizabeth the requisite tactical decisions enabling her to carve out her place in the group of survivors. Her Sun and Jupiter in Gemini incline her toward being adventurous, cheerful, curious about, and able to get along well with, all her outback companions. No doubt her strategy entering this contest was focused upon the quality of her relationships rather than upon her physical strength and outdoor survival skills. Indeed, in the very first program, she befriended Rodger, the elder man in the group, and promised that she would never write down his name.
Finally, Elizabeth has a conjunction of Venus and Mars in Aries. While not so powerfully integrated with her Sun and Moon as are Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto, all in remarkably opportunistic harmony, she can, nonetheless, be an aggressively amorous woman. With transiting Uranus closely sextile Elizabeth's Venus-Mars conjunction during the filming of the contest, generous reception from, and recognition by, her fellow participants was all but guaranteed.
I believe that Elizabeth's upcoming victory will project her into the public eye for a long time to come.
