Please pardon the belated response to your thoughtful article.
All I can say is right on! The choice is always ours, astrology does not dictate, and the events of 9/11, as reflected in the chart for that event do not indicvate any inevitability.
Our ability as astrologers to invoke 20/20 hindsight on any event by examining the horoscope for the event in question with a fine tooth comb implies that the event was inevitable.
The Libra Ascendant, Jupiter in the 9th conjunct the MC are notparticularly sinister....and of course that pesky Saturn/Pluto opposition is/was in for months.
Astrology is a language of symbols, which puts it in a realm which defies logic and reasoning on a literal plane. Like anything else, astrology has its fundamentalists, who insist upon taking this symbolic language and turning it into gospel, resulting in the same kind of mind set we run into with other fundamentalist groups.
Thank you again for reminding us that astrology is a tool for our use, and not a force dictating our lives.

From these aspects, the United States needs to govern themselves a bit more closely as far as being overzealous in their attempts to seek out and destroy Osama bin Laden and his associates. The US is becoming a tad bit reckless in their attempts to succeed in doing such. According to various news sources, it has been stated that innocent civilians have been needlessly losing their lives because the US is NOT checking its sources thoroughly and therefore, erroneously bombing varied Afghan sites. By this, they are creating some animosities with our current Afghani and Pakistani allies and risking their own needs for vengeance and possible retaliation upon us. Caution is necessary to our success. If the US continues to display a general lack of thoroughness in our task in Afghanistan, it could be enough to possibly launch a third World War upon us because of US negligence regarding this matter. We're currently being closely watched and observed here. Our Armed Services needs to maintain an awareness of such.

I don't see very much mention of the large animal factor that pluto in sag represents in this recent development of 9-11. We had the mad cow problems in England, and the anthrax is all about animal disease, too. Today I found out that small pox vaccination is cow pus.
This combined with the factor that sheep can destroy the flora of whole nations if there is unregulated grazing, like we see in Afghanistan (yes, and drought didn't help).
Gemini is the communicator, Saturn the teacher. Pluto the enforced
transformer and Sagittarius, higher education. Is it the language

Upon looking at the aspects of the Gemini Rising (Evangeline Adams) US Natal aspects and interplay to the US Afghanistan Attack on Sunday, I find these aspects to be absolutely incredible!
Key points:
Transiting Moon is in the 1st House located at, 13 degs. 48 mins. of Gemini, and is conjunct transiting Saturn in the 1st located at, 14 degs. 52 mins. of Gemini. BOTH are in separating conjunction to Natal Uranus at 8 degs. 53 mins. of Gem., and Natal Mars located at 20 degs. 57 mins. Gemini.
The Ascendant of Sunday's Attack falls in the US' 1st House as well, and it is in separating conjunction to Natal Mars, as is the transiting North Node located at 0 degs. 8 mins. Cancer.
(Anyone who says that the US doesn't take astrology seriously needs to rethink that! Someone or several someones most certainly do, just by the looks of these aspects!!!)
The transiting Sun is located at 14 degs. 29 mins. of Libra in the 5th, in parallel aspect to Natal Saturn located at 14 degs. 47 mins. of Libra.
A VERY interesting note: The transiting Libra Sun, which moves a degree per day, is in the same degree that Mercury was on September 11, making a harmonious trine aspect to the Saturn-Pluto opposition. It appears that this aspect, which is usually harmless, is allowing the pressure of the Saturn-Pluto opposition to be expressed loud and clear.

Yesterday on Oprah, Marianne Williamson voiced something that had been gnawing at me for days. I had been seeing all these American flags everywhere and hearing all this patriotic fervor and it bothered me. What Marianne said was, "let's not just say God Bless America, let's say God Bless the World." Hasn't this recent horror taught us that we are now bonded and united with every other country, city, race or culture that has been made to suffer at the hand of terrorism? Moreover, the generosity and genuine outpouring of grief and support from hundreds of thousands - if not millions - of people from ALL OVER THE WORLD deserves our attention and undying gratitude. These people did not have to interrupt their lives and daily routines to pray anf give honor to American citizens. But they did just that. God Bless the World, not God Bless America. September 11th was not a significant Muslim date (although it was the Ethiopian and Coptic New Year). The Moon that night was almost half-full; it was a few degrees above Jupiter in the sky, but there was no high-magnitude star nearby. I think we can safely say that the terrorists had no astrological, religious or occult/esoteric motive for picking that particular date. |

The meaning of the September 11 attack chart would, from the terrorist's perspective show how the Mercury rising (trine Saturn) delivered a message with a cold hard reality in a way that it could not be ignored.
With reference to your claim that a star was within the crescent of the moon...this is impossible, since it would mean that the star would be closer to earth than the moon. The darkened part of the crescent hides (or occults) what is in the sky behind it.

I agree that this is the time to create new structures for dealing with differences in the world. Our country's response to disagreements with others has been to go in with a show of force and drop bombs and missiles on countries with no ability to fight back in order to force our ideals upon them. In the process we have destroyed civilian as well as military property and killed many innocent people. Our leaders have always chosen someone they describe as a despot to justify their interference in the affairs of others. Americans have rallied behind these actions and cheered from the sidelines. Our foreign policy has been inconsistent and our friends one year are declared enemies the next because of a change in leadership or action or inaction on their part.
As we enter the Aquarian Age we should be looking for more humanitarian and "politically correct" ways of dealing with conflict and healing old wounds. There is much room for positive change in the world. Love and compassion must replace greed and selfishness if we want to preserve our world rather than destroy it.
I have been amazed at the fact that most people don't seem to see a cause and effect relationship between our country's foreign policies and war-mongering and the terrorist attacks. |

I've been reading and reading, but I can't find anything about the most hopeful thing that I could find about the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01. It was the Chiron sextile Uranus, that was happening in the sky that day and other surrounding days. I know that Pluto is opposing Saturn and feel this is very important, but the other influences of the asteroids, which I have been following for about 5-7 years also factor in. To me, the Chiron/Uranus sextile speaks volumes about the potential for international healing. Since, Chiron was discovered only recently, only recently have we brought its energy into our consciousness. Therefore, for the first time in the history of the world, we now have and can experience the consciousness of the wounded healer. As it sextiles Uranus, I interpret this to mean, it gives us half of the blessing that awaits us at the trine (or as I refer to it, the trinity). As Uranus can be interpreted to represent freedom, change, the truth that must be told, and electronic information; it is influenced by the wounded healer in a positive blessing. This means to me that our freedom, truth, electronic information and change energy were all wounded on that day, but that we now have the oportunity to heal the world in a way that has never been possible before, simply because we had no consciousness of this energy before. Of course, we will have to go through the square of Uranus and Chiron before we reach the trine. That will be a time of asking ourselves if we did what we intended to do with the blessing of the sextile. If we did, we will move on to the trine, if we didn't we will have to adjust it then and then move on to the trine.
This is a time of volotility, of which the intent is healing, world healing. If we only look at the Pluto/Saturn opposition we are missing the whole point. I'd like to see some of the major astrologers address this point.

I wanted to run a few thoughts by the more experienced astrologers, being an amateur myself. Having run a chart of the date and time of the event on 9/11, to me, Jupiter in Pluto clearly represents the terrorists. Pluto, the planet of obsession and destruction combining with Sagittarius, the sign of religion and philosophy. Now I am not saying this combination represents these all the time, for I have this in my chart, although Pluto’s obsessive nature is there tempered by Uranus’s unpredictability.
In any case, it struck me that if this were the terrorists, then of course Jupiter in Cancer was America, in direct opposition. Mercury is in Libra at 14, at the point of self, the point of individuation, the point where this attack became a reality.
Using this as a natal chart, looking at possible transits, one particularly notable day seems to be October 7th, when the Sun crosses the ascendant at 14 Libra. At that point there is a t-square as well with Jupiter and Mars. The Emmy’s are on that day, and I hope I am wrong, but it seems to me to be a bit unfavorable. Anyone else take a look at possible transits to the original chart?

Astrology has not provided me any comfort lately - I wish the signs showed a positive and a peaceful resolution was 'written in the stars' but I lose hope a little bit each day everytime I read or hear about retaliation. Then I read Johanna's message and I knew there was at least one other person hearing the same verse - the words to this song have been ringing in my head since the day of the tragedy - it does feel as if John Lennon came back to sing for us. But it saddens me that I yet to hear one radio station or any TV coverage play it - at least they have chosen another one of his songs: 'Imagine' I wish people understood the true reality of what a war will mean - I know they want justice but do they realize how many innocent lives will be lost - not just children abroad but our children as well - do they realize that it will be along war so our younger children may have to go as well? I do not want see my children's, or nieces & nephews or even my friend's children names on a list of missing or dead. Isn't over 6000 names enough? I am a Scorpio, Libra rising. I have had a strange interest with Astrology for so long now I can not remember. But primarily I started only to touch the real iceberg when Pluto went into Scorpio and I started to notice something different in the meaning of horoscope other than I assumed it to be.
I am not a professional, just a layperson that has a true passion for Astrology. The things I have learned has been from the interest, reading, and self study.
It is in my opinion, from what I have veiwed and experienced, that all the choices in the world will not change the concept of " what will be, will be." And if it is not suppose to be even with all of our choices it may only be stalled until it goes as planned.

I concur with the main point of the article, especially since seeing that New York City was born with a Pluto/Saturn opposition (the 1898 chart when the other cities and regions were joined to create New York City). Also, Canada is a nation formed when Saturn and Pluto opposed each other (BNA Act, July 1, 1867). Last night I had a dream that I walked into my office and found hundreds of gold crosses. All different. Some very ornate, others simple, all of them on appearing very tall. Then I looked at my desk and saw hundreds of birthday cards and each card did something different. As I unfolded each one, it became something else. Small sculptures. This morning I saw clearly what has happened to us and I think all the crosses and birthday cards belong to those who lost their lives. |

Many news accounts say that the attack is being likened to the one on Pearl Harbour. Although the magnitude of destruction and impact on the American population is similar,there is one difference: Pearl Harbour was attacked by another country, Japan, justifying a military response. NY and Washington on the other hand were attacked by terrorists. This doesn't detract from the outrage and horror of it all, I have photographs of the WTC taken last year from the top of the Empire State Building, towering over the other buildings on the skyline and now there is an empty space.
But I do believe it requires a different strategy than the one employed in retribution for Pearl Harbour and that is to focus on the perpetrators, not the government of a country where bin Laden is living, ie Afghanistan, esp. since he denies involvement. And I agree this is very hard to do in the face of previous non-cooperation by that country regarding the handing over of or punishment of terrorists.

First, before I forget, I'd like to mention and have verified by someone if they'd also read this---three of the four captains for the doomed aircrafts were Virgos, having just celebrated a 51st or 52nd birthday...I thought this was a striking coincidence.
Also this forum was a wonderful idea...
I'm finding myself grappling with feelings and implications and various ways of reading meaning into the WTC event, and not all of it's sympathetic to the U.S. (tho' I am it's citizen nonetheless!) As a society it seems we've based our values on a worship of money, hidden behind "nice" words, "nice" facades, good intentions to "help." But Pluto, bringing with it a volcanic cloud of primitive emotion, has unrooted this dichotomy...Our govt. has exploited and regarded as expendable many, many people of third world countries. We've misused our considerable economic and military power. I work for an airline and know that the company, behind its cheery words, would do anything for a buck; they've even boated food over from other "cheaper" countries to use on planes...
Make no mistake, this terrorist act has been brewing for a long, long time---the impossible-to-express reactive emotions coalesced into one sheer steel blade, almost like the same process one would go through in forming the one perfect sentence or statement...But are we ready to see what some of the world thinks of us (our shadow actions??) or will it always remain hideous, obscure, and brushed under a rug to fester? |

Venus' astrological position in the first plane attack chart on the WTC is at same degree of the total solar eclipse from 8/11/99. This I feel is one possible trigger of the event. Many would say that this eclipse is already over two years old and we have had several since that time. Well the total solar eclipse of 8/11/99 was 2 minutes and 38 seconds in duration of totality. Per the ancient Greek astrologer Ptolemy, solar eclipses remain in effect as many years as the eclipse duration in minutes. This would take us to around 2/18/02 for this eclipse.
Caution should be advised for the Winter Olmpic Games in Salt Lake City with the opening ceremony on 2/8/02 at 6PM (MST). The chart for this event does not look very secure to say the least.
Also there is much apparent regarding the WTC event which is dual in nature with my interest primarily on Saturn in Gemini. It may be very difficult if not impossible to find the person responsible for this act particularly if we are looking at Bin Laden or Hussein. Both of these men are known to have multiple body doubles for security reasons (Gemini). We may be lulled into a false sense of having captured or elliminating the perpetraitor when in reality this is not the case. |

Has anyone noticed that Mercury will turn retrograde and go stationery direct at 14 degrees in the third week of October? This is the same potent degree of the Mercury/Ascendent conjunction involved with the first Trade Center attack. This Mercury station will also conjunct Venus, and other indicators are linking up with the U.S. chart around that time. I think one of the most powerful healing tools--with the use of astrology--is to understand where, and how, we, as individuals, are going to use this tremendous oppositional power between Saturn and Pluto. Most of us, by grace and good fortune, were spectators to this horror...some of us, sadly, lived it out.
Pluto in Sagittarius tells us that to heal we must learn, we must seek our truths by reading, by learning everything we can about the world, the middle east, about terrorists, we must take our understanding to a higher level...a level that transcends and adds to media coverage and clarifies consiracy talk and allows us to bring many factors together in an attempt to "know." It refuses to let us assume, whether those assumptions are made by listening to what others have to say....or our own thoughts.
An example...driving this Holy War is not merely a desire to get US involvement out of the middle east...it is a desire to end what the radical extremist muslims see as McDonaldism...the western values, the democracy of freedom. Not so easily negotiated as withdrawing our presence from a land which is under centuries long war. We must educate ourselves...so that we don't point arrows of blame.
Pluto in Sagittarius is about tolerance of a most gut wrenchingly honest kind...tolerance not only for innocent people attached to a group of terrorists by fate...but tolerance for those of us who feel the need to fight and defend..and tolerance for those of us who need to love and heal with peace. It is a word without boundaries.
We can become more then helpless and innocent bystanders....by using Saturn in Gemini to focus on what we need to learn and to do so with an open heart, an open mind and an open soul...we will not like everything that we discover...but we will grow more powerful, more loving, more compassionate. |

In these trying Saturn-Pluto times, I believe we should, as Americans and people of the Light, use this opportunity to our advantage. In the midst of this tragedy, we can use our "new found" feelings of unity among Americans and express on a more worldwide scale by showing our compassion to the innocent bystanders in Afghanistan and surrounding countries.
Justice in some way must be carried out, however, we should not act out of anger and be erratic when the time comes. It is my personal opinion that bin Laden and the Taliban were in some way involved if not the primary perpetrators, however, should about this in a methodical and exacting way and not be so quick to place blame. The best way to get retribution is to not make a spectacle of ourselves on the world stage to make a point, but to infiltrate their systems and use their tools and weaknesses against them as they demonstrated to us. We must show mercy to and not bomb innocent civilians surrounding the culprits.
The actions that we take will show America's ultimate integrity when dealing with our own crisis situations. Losing thousands is an atrocity, but let us not get our "pay back" by killing total ethnic groups for our own satisfaction. We must grow from this experience and show our humanity in this Aquarian Age. In my opinion, it is by the grace of God that we have George Bush as President of the US. With his Sun conjunct Jupiter and inconjunct Pluto, it is through his moral fiber and religious background that this great nation will survive this great crisis and be able to lead the change to a more humanitarian approach to growth, ideally teaching love and tolerance as well as respect for individual life with each gift to be given.

I basically feel the event was not predictable. Patterns and aspects have been talked about, such as Saturn sqr Pluto during the last attack and Saturn opp Pluto on 9-11-01. But what good is knowing these patterns if we can't pinpoint the time?
For example, the Sun was square Pluto and Saturn the previous week. The Sun is used as a timer to predict events. So why did nothing manifest under these two aspects?
One thing I have experience and confidence in are the transits. Uranus sqr Mars in bin laden's chart (and other aspects) tell me he is a dead man by mid april 2002. |

Sometimes one finds glimmers of wisdom in the strangest places. Having recently re-read J.R.R. Tolkiens ageless classic, «The Lord of the Rings», I have heard ringing in my heart time and again Gandalfs’ words to Frodo when Frodo was talking about meteing out «justice» to Gollum.
F: «What a pity Bilbo did not stab the vile creature, when he had the chance!»
G: «Pity? It was pity that stayed his hand. Pity and mercy: not to strike without need.»
F: «I do not feel pity for Gollum. He deserves death.»
G: «Deserves death! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some die that deserve life. Can you give that to them? Then be not too eager to deal out death in the name of justice, fearing for your own safety. Even the wise cannot see all ends»
These are very sober times. We have not yet begun to realise the long term implications of these events. Put into a "global" perspective, we may be seeing the impetuous towards a more cenralised "world government". The cry around the world is for the need of closer cooperation to fight such attacks. What does this translate into in reality? More centralised intelligence gathering? More unified control? Because of such events, how much of our individual freedom and self-determination are we now willing to sacrifice for "security"? There is a lot to give thought to right now.
These individual events are moving us in a direction. What direction is that going to be? This is the question I've been asking myself lately. With so much personal tragedy involved it's really difficult to continue to keep things in perspective. With emotions running at such high levels, I'm afraid a mistake here will be disasterous. What price are we going to pay for justice?

Today while waiting in a line at the post office a person exhibited impatience with the long wait. I thought of all the people in anguish, waiting in New York, for word or confirmation of their lost loved ones.
Talk show radio has been filled with people condemning other races. In Los Angeles, a Jewish Rabbi saw a trash can sprayed with a derogatory comment about "Arabs."
New York is a city of many races, many nationalities, none of whom were isolated from this attack. Many people, of different nationalities and races, have felt first hand the wrath of this ignorance and fanaticism. The United States citizens are no longer simply citizens of this country but we are now citizens of the world. We have tasted, first hand, the terror and vulnerability that many people of the world live with everyday of their lives.
I think at some level the perpetrators are counting on, depending on, the prejudices and ignorance, the diversity of our great nation, to further blow a hole in our lives. My prayer would be, now and always, that we are a country filled with citizens of greater compassion, greater sensibilities. We will now have to wait in longer lines, wait longer for goods and services. But there is no "wait" for kindness, patience, and compassion. We can do that right now, right where we live ... in our hearts and minds.
God bless this beautiful nation we call America and God bless the world we share. Let us join hands to conquer our fears and ignorance. May we be blessed and live long enough to see the lion lie down with the lamb.

As Liz Greene said years ago when discussing the transiting conjunction between Pluto and Saturn ~the matriarchal, the natural law, must be honored or in alchemical terms, contained or eruptions occur.
If we look at these events as eruptions from deep in the collective unconscious and if there are stories that might give us insight ~then briefly, consider Orestes who in order avenge the death of his father had to slay his mother. That unleashed the protectors of Mother-Right ~the Furies. They chased him forever and drove him crazy~he fell at the feet of Athena~the first lawyer. She resolved his case by promising the Furies she would build them an Honorable Altar. The family curse was broken and Orestes was free.
Those of you who know the Sumerian myth of Erishkigal and Inanna know that the "The Lady of Largest Heart" is freed when and only when the dark, the grieving, the pain is HEARD...the little "mourner's" simply listen to Ereshkigal’s ugly grieving~nothing else~no advice~no platitudes~and in so doing~Inanna is released from the Underworld and there is Freedom and Joy once again.
What can we do? Among other things:
Build honorable altars to the Furies who will chase us forever until we get it right...provide containers for the grief and for the burning.
Rituals and more rituals, light candles and more candles. Pay attention to the images from the collective unconscious. Art-make until you drop. Meditate until the cows come home. Play your music loud for all of us to hear. Withhold no gifts.
And know that the dark that MUST be acknowledged is in each of us. It does not exist just in some terrorist 'over there' who came 'over here'. The path to healing begins with each of us.

I think responsibility needs to be taken on both sides of the coin here. What happened was awful of course, but lets understand that the US has its own shadow side as well. The terrorist attacks seem to be that shadow side coming to view, as Pluto can certainly represent that side. Pluto always demands that some kind of attitude needs to be let go of and transformed. The degree to which one resists is the degree to which one suffers. What is the US being asked to let go of? Yes, the US is a very paternalistic society. It does have its negative side along with its good side. Look at the symbolism of it all. US flight training and skill was used against itself. It could that the things that the US has tried to paternalistically manipulate and control in the world will be used against itself. Bush said this was a fight of good vs. evil. Well, this is a chance to take responsibility for the evil that has been pushed to the shadow side. If the US owns it, maybe it won't have to come at the US in these sorts of brutal ways. |

As an astrologer (and private pilot) who devoted 15 years of my life to aviation safety, the stunning events of this past week were beyond my worst nightmares.
The most important thing we can do, amidst all of our brilliant interpretations, is to keep acting in love and courage - the only way to live life.
I will be flying next weekend to see Caroline Casey speak in the Bay Area. I wouldn't have it any other way. After so many eons as humans, and many dreams, we have been blessed with flight. We "dance among the stars" at will. We should never relinquish this treasure to ignorance and fear.

i seriously doubt that. i doubt that the creator sits there spinning these things out for us. the morass we find on earth was created by man.
as for the gulf war being senseless, or the war we're about to enter, think about this in a simpler light.
when i lived in philadelphia, i saw an old woman about to be mugged or robbed. i didn't know which. to forestall this, i walked over to her, put my arm around her shoulder, greeting her loudly and guided her into a coffee shop. the muggers went elsewhere. i didn't need force, but should i have left her to these people? no. i had a responsibility.
when sadam rolled into kuwait, his thugs mascarading as soldiers robbed, beat, killed and raped. should we have stood by then? no. of course not.
on another occasion, i was waiting for an 'l' in philly. and a mugger pulled me back to rob or rape me. i'm very small
and very short. but i jabbed him in the ribs with my elbows and then i flailed him with my fists. he fell to the ground and i ran to get on the train. no one came to my aid. but if this were retribution as you suggest in these kinds of events, should i have simply let him do what he wished? of course not.
well, these people have murdered ours. and they will murder again. you cannot talk common sense or behavior into some people. sometimes you do need to go to war. |

people who have risen 'above their charts' find it possible perhaps more clearly to not only make the contents of their future those things which they choose, but people who do not have the strength to think clearly, wisely or well, do not.
when dealing with fanatics, sometimes there are very few choices. and sometimes there are no choices at all.
why else when people were on fire, their skin and hair burning, would they choose to leap from windows so high above the ground? they chose the means of their death. not the cause, perhaps, but the means. the people in these towers did not choose to have planes strike the buildings they were in. they only chose to be present in those buildings unaware of the danger they were facing.
yes, we can make choices within the shape of aspects, angles and houses, but these very same things limit those choices rather dramatically.

This male LORD God sounds like the terrorists' idea of God. This servile thinking encourages extreme fundamentalism. Our world is opening to the individual. We're excessive, chaotic and destructive, yes, but we're also loving and open, a moving experiment in human possibility. We're good, we're bad, we're learning. Ruling male gods don't always like that, nor do those who follow them.
Can't we encourage ourselves to explore more than one possibility? We have the brains, but do we have the heart? |

There is hope for the world and it lies in our response to the challenges in our everyday lives- such as our family dynamics, which are also influenced by these same astrological cycles. If we give blood or join the national guard or whatever, that should be in accordance with our individuality.
I personally think "live by the sword, die by the sword" applies to terrorists as well as militant nationalists, "peace-keeping forces," and, in a diffferent realm, abusive people- any of which may be you or me. So, encounter these people with the awareness that they may live by the sword, but you don't have to live by their rules. You are responsible for your own power, your own self-discpline, your own light.
Welcome to Tuesday morning's T-square, but as of Friday afternoon as I am writing, the sun is now squaring Chiron, the wounded healer, still in the aspect of choice. Our wounds inform us to help others, if we so choose.
But I think it can all be easy. It is easy to want to rescue someone from the rubble, it is easy to run from the dust cloud, and it is easy to pray and smile if you so choose. It may be hard work, but that does not make it a hard choice.
Last, for anyone who "lost" a loved one: perhaps the seperation is temporary or perhaps they are still with us in some way. Emotions are not bad; they are also messengers- unless we choose to ignore their messages.
Why would we do that? Fear is also an emotion, so you can't terrify emotions out- you can only bury them with a temporary layer of terrible. We do have choices... as the situations arise.

Like most Americans, I'm very much troubled by the recent events in NYC and Washington, DC. And while I do at this moment favor a military response, I'm concerned that we are only beginning down a road that leads to a perpetual cycle of violence similar to what the Israelis and Palestinians are currently engaged.
Maybe this is Pluto's way of transforming our nation comprised of citizens that before this disaster could have been accused of not caring as much as it should for their fellow Americans. We need only to look at Seattle just weeks ago when frustrated commuters were senselessly encouraging a distrought women to get her suicide attempt over with so that they wouldn't be late for work. Would that still happen today?
Our country has become more and more consumed by big business (Saturn) and the values it espouses to the masses. We spend less time with others and more time involved in self-directed behavior that we feel is necessary to live "the good american life". In the process, we have forgotten who we really are as a Nation. One that honors many different people under one flag united in the belief that we are all worthy of freedom and that together we are stronger than any individual.
Saturn has never been accused of being warm and flexible. So maybe now it has taken Pluto's destructive energy to bring about change in our Nation's collective conciousness. The way we are all pulling together in the face of such destruction should remind each one of us that our real true power lies not in Saturnian structures, but in our limitless capacity to love and protect one another (Pluto).

Although I am normally not a Wayne Dyer fan, the other evening I did attend a reading of his new book on spirituality. The entire book is premised on the Prayer of St. Francis, and could not be more meaningful and timely. As Dr. Dyer so eloquently demonstrated, the prayer is spiritual "technology" for our world caught up in hyper-capitalism. We all must participate as instruments of God's peace and love. Politically, we should also become much more aware of the actions of our government, since those events in New York City were directly precipitated by covert activity between our government and the Taliban (the Mujahadin). |

I am new to Astrology, only 1 year of study, before that I studied metaphysics. In metaphysics, we are taught that we create everything with our thoughts and beliefs. In Astrology, we are channels for universal energies.
I believe both to be true. But at the same time I believe that both can't be true. Can Love and light overcome darkness and destruction? Can love and healing overcome this terrible disaster?
Sometimes there is even war within my beloved family of 3 boys and one husband and me! So is there hope for the world? Are we entering the golden age or is it the beginning of the end? How can we has individuals help to create our future? Is it all in the stars or on our hearts and minds, and how do we combine the two?
