I think it means Palin's candidacy will have a major impact on whoever ascends to office on that day. If it's Obama, the intensity of the election will leave him with major scars to heal, not only as a public figure but as a private citizen. If it's McCain, she'll almost certainly begin to plan for her seat in the Oval Office, from day one.
No matter what happens, this race will give Palin a taste of what it means to have real power. I suspect that she likes how that feels and I believe the experience will have a major impact on how she lives the rest of her life.
It's funny that she tries to portray herself to the world as Alaska's happy "Hockey Mom". Personally I think she's way more about the "hockey" than about the "mom".
But you never know. Trig could be the ultimate game changer in her life, meaning that she could actually fall in love with the kid and decide that being his unconventional advocate mommy is fulfillment enough for her competitive, freedom loving spirit.
These super Aquarians? You can never predict what will interest them next. |

The Inauguration Day chart, made for noon Washington, has a giant Aquarian stellium in the midheaven.

Early Voting States & Mercury Rx |

The states likely to have the most problems with in-person early voting IMO are Arizona (10/2), Ohio (9/30) and Vermont (10/6) in addition to Iowa (9/23) as they will be right in the middle of the Mercury Rx. Illinois (10/13 or 10/14); Kansas and Tennessee (both 10/15) may have problems with votes cast during those days before/as Mercury stations direct. Ohio is the only battleground state to fall in this category.
Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas, and Utah will not allow in-person early voting until after Mercury is direct; however, in most casesearly voting will end by 10/31 which is when Mercury gets back to its previous station point.
It was much harder to evaluate those states that treat early voting in the same manner as absentee ballots - need to mail/email a request for ballot which will then be mailed out. I know some suggest fraud will be involved but there is always some place where that happens just because of human nature - no need for Neptune or other malefics to intervene. More than likely Mercury Rx being Mercury Rx will be more than enough to cause unintentional foul-ups. |

Sasha thx for your input.
Like you, I see why those paper votes could come under scrutiny.
I think, unlike in elections past when absentee ballots didn't really count because the media called the election no later than the end of West coast polling hours, the call might be withheld until every military, expatriate and absentee vote has been counted.
This election is too important to the rank and file military for anyone to second guess their intentions. As long as absentee voters postmark their ballots by Nov 3, their votes are considered valid.
The actual counting of those votes could take up to a week, hence well into Mer in Scorpio. Anyone who understands astrology can judge how that's going to play out. |

Mercury Rx and 2008 Elections |

Mercury Rx is likely to have a strong effect on Oregon (all counties) and Washington (37 of 39 counties) in which voters mail their ballots and absentee voters. It may be that people's requests for absentee ballots won't be received by county election boards or they won't receive their ballots on time.
Still looking for data on those that allow early voters as to how many will have in-person early voting occuring during the Mercury Rx and how many after Mercury goes direct. I have found out that Iowa will begin early voting on 9/23/08, the same day Mercury goes retrograde. Those Iowans - always wanting to go first. ;D |

Anlunar Calculations to Determine Election Outcome |

Yesterday, there were comments posted by someone named Bob regarding the Huffpollstrology article on the Huffington Post website. Unfortunately the post is gone, but I copied and saved it to my computer.
He uses an 'anlunar' technique to calculate that Obama will win the election. Can anyone speak to the validity of this technique and whether Bob's use of it is a sound way of predicting an Obama win? Please read...
BOB STATES THE FOLLOWING:
Election day for Obama:
Using the 7:24 pm birth chart:
Obama's progressed Moon will be on his Ascendant on Nov 5, 2008. Transit Jupiter/Uranus (the "Thank the Lord combination) midpoint will be there also.
Obama's precession corrected anlunar located to Chicago (where he will probably be election day and the day after) begins Oct 26 at 0:49:18, CST.
At 10 am, Nov 5, transit Jupiter will trine the Midheaven. Transit Jupiter/Uranus midpoint will be exactly square the Midheaven. Transit Sun/Venus midpoint will be on the Nadir.
From the progression of this anlunar it appears that he may not receive a concession call from his opponent until morning on Nov 5th.
Progressing the anlunar to Nov 5 at:
8:30 am CST, yields progressed Sun conjunct the Midheaven. Anlunar Pluto will be exactly square. This is a power combination.
10:00 am CST, Anlunar Venus is on the Ascendant. All is nice.

Michael, you said:
Here's one planetary signature that tilts me toward Obama. He declared his candidacy on February 10, 2007 (10:13 am; Chicago, IL) when Mars was at 18º Capricorn and the Moon was void of course in Scorpio. On Inauguration Day (January 20, 2009; 12:00 pm; Washington D.C.), Mars will be at 18º Capricorn and the Moon void of course in Scorpio.
****
When I saw this the first thing that jumped out to me was the Moon VOC in Scorpio, similar to a chart for McCain's acceptance that I saw elesewhere.
It also occurred to me that this means only that election day will bring Obama to the end of a significant life experience that began on Feb 10 2007. The end point could just as easily be the end of his pursuit of high office.
It all depends on whether or not the American people choose to express the Uranian energy of that day with a massive turnout at the polls (the only thing that can put Obama in office, I think) or if they project it onto idealized (Neptune element) "Change" figures and put Sarah Palin (the most Uranian figure in the election) within close range of the Oval office.
If McCain wins, I believe the multiply Aquarian Palin's wait to sit at that desk may be short lived. |

You know, it's funny you should say something about Mercury and its influence on the upcoming election. Now I remember that the 2000 election happened on the station of Mer at -- yes -- exactly the same sign and degree (Lib29d) as where Mer will sit on election day 2008.
In 2000 that retrograde energy expressed as confusion about the result of the contest and a series of "do over" votes that delayed the outcome of the election by many weeks. It occurred to me that if Mer does end up having a strong sig in the chart of Election day, it could in a sense be a do-over of the 2000 election.
The only candidate for whom this is a crucial do over experience is John McCain. It's another factor (along with the Saturn ruled sign of the Moon on that day) that trends toward a McCain win, or at least a very strong showing to my mind.
Today I heard Chuck Todd suggest that because there is so much early voting in the US these days, the election may be set as early as Oct 15. When I consulted my ephemeris to find the position of Mer (stationing) on that day, I found it at the exact degree (7dLib) it assumed on Sep 3, when Sarah Palin (a religious ideologue - Pluto in Sag - with her own brand of oratory skills) gave her first major address.
More and more I see the potential for a McCain/Palin win.
After all, the new president will hold office as Pluto makes its 21st c. home in Capricorn.
I can't see Obama or Biden expressing that kind of power in public office. But Capricorn would suit military son John McCain very well indeed.

Now that polls show Obama as the underdog, perhaps the Trump card that Uranus holds over Saturn will create a surprise win for Obama. God, I hope so!
Sarah Palin is extremely dangerous. She lusts for power and abuses it by punishing her adversaries. Look at her planets! Her Sun/Mars/Saturn conjunction (be afraid) is ruled by Uranus, which is conjunct Pluto (power) and opposing Chiron. She's on a mission from God and has a messianic streak, also evidenced by her Sun square Neptune, which in turn trines her Jupiter. Watch her YouTube video where she addresses her Assembly of God Church and associates the Iraq war with God's purpose.
Everyone should visit the Huffington Post website. It's become 'Sarah Palin Central' with updated news stories on Palin being added constantly, in addition to other news and videos. Obama was interviewed on Keith Olbermann's show on MSNBC, and the next day, the Huffington Post had the video on it's website. Great stuff, and very convenient! Too bad the mainstream media is not covering most of the real news about Palin to the extent that it should. Now, Obama's Reverend Wright problem - that tape was on a continuous loop for about 2 weeks on major network news. |
