Our two-party system is a sham, as explained by Carrol Quigley in "Tragedy and Hope":
"The argument that the two parties should represent opposed ideals and policies, one, perhaps, of the Right and the other of the Left, is a foolish idea acceptable only to the doctrinaire and academic thinkers. Instead, the two parties should be almost identical, so that the American people can 'throw the rascals out' at any election without leading to any profound or extreme shifts in policy."

Blame government, not free market capitalism |

Don't blame free-market capitalism for the trouble we're in. Call this crony capitalism or Caligula capitalism or corporatism (the merger of state and corporate power)-- but don't call it capitalism. In his younger days Greenspan was an acolyte of Ayn Rand and he favored a gold standard, but he was obviously corrupted by power. The very existence of the Fed (a privately owned central bank) is totally antithetical to free market capitalism. Money is a commodity that arises from the marketplace, and it doesn't need central management any more than we need central control over pencils, paper, cars, computers, or anything else. The Fed is largely to blame for our current crisis because of their manipulation of the interest rates and the money/credit supply. |

I have been reading since'98. You have had several errors of word misuse in some of your articles. this week there for should have been their. I have noticed this also in the Wall Street Journal. I like your thought process.
But, progressing further, we need to get away from the two existing parties. Is that in the charts? Of course, I would like to scale the federal gov't back to the Judicial system, defense and police, and a prime minister. No dep't of education etc. And no congress, irs or a vice president. Any disputes between the States would be settled by the Judicial System. I don't see it happening. |

It matters not what either party does or does not do because all are incompetent and all are corrupt. What we are witnessing is the beginnings of the astrological meltdown and demise of the American Empire -- and it matters not what our elected officials do or do not do, they are the elected "DECONSRUCTIONISTS" of the empire, elected by the ignornant MOB known as the American citizen. All empires end and so too will America by its sheer greed, immorality and ineptitude and its obsession with capitalism and the acquisition of money/power. Money/capitalism is an antiquated old world system that will not ever serve the "common good" of the people. Our capitalist monetary system and the Ann Rynd, free-market ideology of the Greenspam Feds and those on Capitol Hill should have been abandoned in the 20th century, or at the very least 30 long years ago of the Reagan admnistration.
But there is "HOPE". Please visit the www.zeitgeistmovement.com and Jacques Frescoe's the venusprogject.com.
