Giant Jupiter’s entry into fiery Aries sparks fresh perspectives and ignites original ideas. The planet of wisdom in this pioneering and spontaneous sign favors originality and shoot-from-the-hip thinking. This is a time when lightning bolts of intuition provide glimpses of the future that will spur innovation. It’s an opportunity to step out of the limits of the past and come up with new solutions for the future. Aries is a sign of immediate action so philosophical Jupiter is not going to linger in a world of wooly concepts. An urgency to put insights into practice creates quick opportunities for breakthrough changes yet impulsiveness can also produce big mistakes.

Jupiter is called “Guru” in Sanskrit, which means “teacher.” Its presence in independent Aries is more about self-learning than studying at the feet of a master. While this multiplies the ways in which we discover things, it can make it more difficult to maintain discipline in an educational setting. This can also result in a rejection of intellectualism that replaces dialogue with one-sided rhetoric. Opinions run hot and there’s impatience for action with Jupiter in Aries, potentially sparking political and social confrontation.

Immature decision-making and narrow thinking will reduce the likelihood of dialogue and compromise. It's helpful to temper enthusiasm with a dash of skepticism to keep from burning up in the flames of passionate beliefs. Figuring out when to follow intuitive leaps and when to balance them with opposing points of view may determine whether new concepts will lead to real change or rapidly fade away.

8% of humanity was born with Jupiter in Aries. Some interesting ones are Sir Thomas More, Francis Bacon, Rene Descartes, Jonathan Swift, William Herschel, Mary Shelley, Frederick Chopin, Charles Beaudelaire, Mary Baker Eddy, Clara Barton, Nikola Tesla, Scott Joplin, Alice Bailey, Mae West, Dr. Seuss, Joseph Campbell, B.F. Skinner, Salvador Dali, Pir Vilayat Khan, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Che Guevara, Lois Rodden, Jack Kevorkian, Christian Lacroix, John Grey, Steven Seagal, Johnny Depp, Juliette Binoche.
